Fraser Coast seniors find comfort in award-winning homes

The Fraser Coast’s newest land lease living community, Vantage Hervey Bay, recently marked a monumental project milestone, celebrating its first industry award win just one year after its launch, and only months after welcoming home the first community residents.

The Panorama 24 design from Villaworld Homes by AVID is one of five functional display homes that have opened this year at Vantage Hervey Bay and was named the top Display Home up to $400,000* in Master Builders Queensland’s Wide Bay Burnett Housing and Construction Awards1.

AVID General Manager Queensland Anthony Demiris said an award win in the early stages of the project was indicative of a flourishing future to come for residents at the over 50s community, with the current cohort of 29 set to expand to 70 by the end of the year.

“This recognition from industry experts so early in the establishment of our Hervey Bay community is such an exciting sign for the future ahead for all the residents still to find themselves a home in one of our award-winning designs,” Mr Demiris said.

“We are consistently impressed by our Villaworld Homes team’s carefully crafted home designs, as are our residents, who revel in the opportunity to start a new chapter of life in a fit-for-purpose home that seamlessly blends liveability with luxury.

“We are immensely proud of this recognition, which is made all the more significant considering the high calibre of our peers also nominated in this category.”

This year marked the 39th Master Builders Queensland Housing and Construction Awards, which is recognised as one of Queensland’s most prestigious industry events and attracts thousands of entries each year.

The award measured nominees on their achievement in liveability and functionality, sustainability and innovation, construction quality, and degree of difficulty.

The Panorama 24 design – which 2 residents at Vantage Hervey Bay call home – features an open-plan layout connecting kitchen, dining and living to an alfresco area, as well as giving owners access to two spacious bedrooms with private ensuites, a study, a multi-purpose room and integrated storage.

The award-winning Panorama 24 design, like all homes in Vantage Hervey Bay was designed and built by the AVID’s industry leading in-house builder, Villaworld Homes.

AVID General Manager Housing Peter Wood said the award win was a testament to the consideration put into every element of the process – from concept to construction – to ensure over 50s residents are moving into a home designed with their needs in mind.

“This stage of life for our buyers is such an exciting period – one that centres around a lifestyle of relaxation and wellbeing, so we’ve worked hard to ensure our home designs are cohesive with both pleasure and practicality,” Mr Wood said.

“We are also conscious that the needs of our residents will adapt and evolve over time, so we’ve implemented versatile design elements that are flexible to these changing needs.”

Villaworld Homes were also awarded the top accolade for TRUECORE® Best Use of Steel Frame Housing Award in the Sunshine Coast, and Individual Home up to $400,000 in the Gold Coast.

Offering a stress-free approach to homeownership for over 50s residents, the 300-home land lease community will feature a range of resort-style amenities including a private community clubhouse, pool, gym, tennis and pickleball courts, bowling green and yoga lawn.
